Florida Atlantic's Lisanne Peart accounted for all the scoring as FAU defeated Samford University 3-0 in Trans America Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday.
Peart's hat trick was all FAU would need as goal keeper Molly Keating kept Samford off the scoreboard by making eight saves on 10 Bulldog shots.
Peart scored her first goal just two minutes in the match from 20 yards out on an assist from Lauren Manfrass. Peart scored again in the 42nd minute off a corner kick to give the Owls a 2-0 lead at halftime. She completed the hat trick with a goal in the 50th minute from Melissa Bobby.
Samford dropped its second-straight match and falls to 8-5 on the season and 3-3 in the TAAC. With the win FAU improves to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the TAAC.
Samford goalkeeper Carrie Ollom made six saves as she faced 16 shots. Graham Holt took three of Samford's 10 shots on the afternoon.
Samford will finish the season with three pivotal TAAC matches beginning Thursday against Jacksonville at Samford Field.
