WBB To Close Out Regular Season At UNCG Monday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Samford women's basketball team will close out the 2010-11 regular season with a Southern Conference game at UNC Greensboro Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. (CST) at UNCG's Fleming Gymnasium.

Samford enters the game with a record of 21-7 overall and 14-5 in Southern Conference games. The Bulldogs have secured second place in the Southern Conference standings and the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SoCon Tournament. Samford is coming off an 83-80 win at Elon on Saturday.

UNC Greensboro is currently 13-13 overall and 10-8 in league play. The Spartans are coming off a 65-53 loss to Chattanooga on Saturday.

Samford and UNC Greensboro will be meeting for the seventh time, with Samford holding a 4-2 advantage in the series. Earlier this season, the teams met on Jan. 11, in the Pete Hanna Center. Samford defeated UNC Greensboro by a score of 66-46. Samford has never won at UNCG.

Samford is led in scoring by senior guard Emily London. London is averaging 16.3 points per game this season, and she is Samford's all-time leading scorer with 1,681 career points. She is coming off an outstanding performance, scoring 33 points in Saturday's win at Elon.

The Bulldogs are led in rebounds (6.2 rpg.) and assists (113) by senior forward Savannah Hill. She is also second on the team in scoring with a 12.1 point-per-game average. Hill is also third in school history in scoring with 1,473 career points, and she ranks second in school history in career rebounds (655) and assists (356).

Junior guards Paige Anderson (7.7 ppg.) and Ruth Ketcham (7.4) are third and fourth on the team in scoring, respectively.

UNC Greensboro is led in scoring by Monique Floyd, averaging 13.9 points per game. Amanda Leigh is scoring 12.0 points per game for the Spartans.

Janae' Stevenson leads UNCG in rebounding, pulling down 6.4 rebounds per game. Floyd pulls down 6.0 boards per contest.

Dayshaun Richbow is the team leader in assists with 80. Floyd has dished out 77 assists so far this season.
