BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford Athletics compliance office, in conjunction with the JMC 492 Public Relations Practicum, has planned to launch a public relations campaign named A.R.T.S. (Athletes Reaching Thousands Socially). The purpose of the campaign is to teach student-athletes respectable social media conduct, as well as to show them how their actions affect a community.
A.R.T.S. will be a month-long social media campaign that will educate and highlight Samford student athletes through Twitter. The class will be catered to teaching athletes the Do's and Dont's of social media.
Additionally, there will also be postings of twit-pics of our student-athletes doing work in the community. Plans are also in the works of having a guest speaker for athletes at an event that will be announced in the near future.
