
SAAC Holds Fourth-Annual New Student-Athlete Social

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Samford's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its fourth-annual newcomer social for all new student-athletes Wednesday evening in the Pete Hanna Center.

All freshmen and transfer student-athletes, as well as members of SAAC were invited to the event. Samford director of athletics Martin Newton got the evening started by talking to the student-athletes about making the most of their time at Samford.

The student-athletes then divided into teams and competed in a variety of events, including assembling a puzzle, get to know you, balloon cup knock down, pie eating, toilet paper mummy, Oreo challenge, panty hose bowling, tissue box pull, doughnut string, frozen t-shirt and making a three-point shot. The first team to complete all activities was declared the winner.

At the conclusion of the evening, the student-athletes were served ice cream.Â
