Bulldogs Move Up Seven Spots In USTFCCCA Regional Rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala - - Both the men's and women's Samford cross country teams made moves in the USTFCCCA regional rankings following week four

After a strong showing at the Cross Country Classic held in Louisville, Ky., the women's squad made the jump from the 11th spot to the fourth spot in the South Region rankings, while the men fell down to the 15th spot.

The current USTFCCCA rankings on the women's side have the Bulldogs just cracking the top five after starting the season at No. 9 and then falling to No. 11 after week three of the season. The women are now ranked just behind Florida State (3) and in front of Southeastern Conference foes Vanderbilt (5), Auburn (6) and Alabama (7).

 On the men's side of the USTFCCA South Region rankings, the Bulldogs are ranked No. 15,  immediately behind Florida (13) and UT Martin (14).

Samford's 2017 schedule still includes a pair of meets in Tuscaloosa, Ala., plus the conference meet held in Spartanburg, S.C., on Oct 28 .
