LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Samford women's basketball team fell at No. 15 Kentucky by a score of 79-49 Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 3-8 on the season. Kentucky improves to 9-0 with the win.

• Shauntai Battle led Samford with nine points.
• Paige Serup followed with eight points for the Bulldogs.
• Sarah Myers has seven points and a team-high six rebounds.
• Charity Brown dished out eight assists for Samford.
• Rhyne Howard led Kentucky with 30 points.

 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Kentucky scored the first nine points of the first quarter to take the early lead.
• Samford fought back to take a 12-11 lead with 3:32 left in the first quarter after a three-pointer by Battle.
• Kentucky closed the quarter with an 11-2 run to take a 22-14 advantage heading into the second period.
• Kentucky built a 32-18 lead with 6:09 left in the second quarter after a jumper by Amanda Paschal.
• The Wildcats outscored Samford, 9-2 the rest of the quarter, and they took a 41-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• In the third quarter, Kentucky built its lead to 25 points at 59-34, and the Wildcats led, 60-36 at the end of the period.
• Kentucky led throughout the fourth quarter and the Wildcats finished with a 79-49 win.
