Women's Golf Finishes Sixth At SoCon Championships

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- The Samford women's golf team wrapped up its season tuesday, finishing in sixth place at the Southern Conference Championship, which was played Sunday through Tuesday.
The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a three-round total of 929 (313-308-308). Even though the team was not able to take home the SoCon title, Samford did have two of its seniors finish in the top 10, Madeline Davis and Emily Uhland.
Davis finished the tournament with a three-round total of eight-over-par 224 (74-75-75) which was good enough for a sixth place finish individually. The finish marked Davis' fourth top ten in the 2018-2019 season.
Uhland's collegiate career also ended on a high note, as her three-round 10-over-par 226 (75-74-77) placed her in a tie for eighth place individually. Uhland's highlight of the tournament was during round two when she birdied the par four second, the par four third, and the par five fourth in route to a two-over-par 74. The finish marked Uhland's third top ten of the 2018-2019 season.
