Samford’s Hatcher To Appear Weekly On CBS 42 College Football Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Samford head football coach Chris Hatcher will appear each week throughout the college football season on CBS 42 College Football Saturday in a segment called Coaches' Corner.
The show is the local CBS station's pregame show for the SEC Game of the Week each week. The show begins at 12 p.m., and Hatcher's segment will air around 12:10 p.m. each week. During the segment, Hatcher and CBS 42 Sports Director Chris Breece will discuss what is new with the Samford program and then the pair will discuss an interesting play or coaching decision from the week before with Hatcher giving insight from a coach's perspective.
Hatcher is entering his sixth year as Samford's head coach. The 2020 season was postponed to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bulldogs will begin practice Monday afternoon, and will practice throughout the month of October.
In Hatcher's first five seasons, he has led the program to four winning seasons and a pair of NCAA Division I-FCS Playoff appearances. Hatcher's 2016 and 2017 teams reached the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1991 and 1992.
Hatcher's offense has consistently produced impressive numbers, ranking high in the FCS and SoCon rankings each season. The unit also helped Devlin Hodges become the FCS' all-time leader in career passing yards and the school's first Walter Payton Award winner.
