BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Samford women's basketball team dropped a 71-26 decision at 13
th-ranked Indiana Thursday evening at Assembly Hall.
With the loss, Samford falls to 0-3 on the season. Indiana improves to 2-0 with the win.

- Samford was led by Shauntai Battle with 12 points.
- Freshman Kiersten Nelson, seeing her first collegiate action, followed with nine points.
- Natalie Armstrong scored four points for Samford, while Audra Leipold scored one point.
- Indiana was led by Mackenzie Holmes and Grace Berger with 13 points each.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Indiana jumped out to an early 14-2 lead with 3:46 left in the first quarter after a layup by Berger.
- At the end of the first quarter, Indiana held a 15-4 lead.
- Samford cut the lead to eight points at 15-7 with 8:22 left in the second quarter after a free throw by Leipold.
- Indiana, however, closed the quarter on an 18-0 run to take a 33-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- The Hoosiers led by as many as 34 points in the third quarter, and held a 51-17 advantage at the end of the period.
- Indiana finished the game with a 71-26 victory.
