BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University's track and field teams wrapped up the indoor regular season with the Samford Invite and the Bulldog Open, Friday and Saturday.
During Friday's Samford Invite,
Hannah Lueders took home the bronze in the women's 200-meter dash.
Veronica Lyle took home the victory for the Bulldogs in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.93, while
Shian Mallory placed third in the women's mile run (5:02.39).
McKenzie Hogue continued her excellence in the indoor distance events, claiming the women's 3000 meter title with a time of 9:49.22.
For the field events,
Morayo Bhadmos claimed the triple jump title with leap of 12.42 meters.
Charlotte Krause claimed a second-place finish in the women's high jump (1.74 meters).
Tally Wilson finished second in the women's pole vault with a final vault of 3.80 meters.
Maggie Johnston took home the bronze in the women's shot put with a throw of 14.03 meters.
For the men's squad on Friday, freshman
Evan Brooks placed third in the men's 60-meter dash final (6.90). Brooks also took home a second-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.82
Justin Stuckey competed in the men's high jump, finishing third with a mark of 2.10 meters.
Dillon Dean finished third in the men's 3000-meter run crossing the line in 8:18.81.
At the Bulldog Open,
Shian Mallory took home a first-place finish in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.10. While, fellow distance runner,
Katie Strozier, won the women's one-mile run (5:07.43).
In the men's pole vault
Hugh Duggan placed second with a vault of 4.70 meters.
