FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – The Samford University women's golf team wrapped up play at the JU Amelia Island Collegiate Tuesday morning, finishing in a tie for 11th in the 15-team event.

After firing an opening 309 to start the event Monday morning, the Bulldogs bounced back and improved 16 shots en route to a second-round 293. Samford concluded play on Tuesday finishing the event with a final-round 297.Â

- Sophie Membrino opened the season with a top-25 finish after posting a final-round 74 (+2). Membrino had the lowest score of any Bulldog for the week finishing the tournament six-over par.
- Mary Kate Horton was the lowest Bulldog on Tuesday, concluding the event with a 73 (+1). Horton opened the 2020 spring season with a t-30 finish.
- Allison Dusek (+12, t-50), Hallianne Hobson (+15, t-59) and Allison Howard (+17, t-62) rounded out the scoring for Samford.
