CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford women's basketball team dropped a 64-58 decision in a key Southern Conference game at Chattanooga Saturday afternoon at McKenzie Arena.
With the loss, Samford falls to 13-14 overall and 8-4 in SoCon play, falling out of first place in the league standings. Chattanooga improves to 10-17 overall and 9-4 in league play.

- Natalie Armstrong led Samford with 20 points in the loss.
- Sarah Myers followed with 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
- For Chattanooga, Lakelyn Bouldin led the way with 18 points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Chattanooga jumped out to an early 7-2 lead with 4:16 to go in the first quarter after a free throw by Abbey Cornelius.
- The Mocs held an 11-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- An early three-pointer by Myers cut the lead to 11-10 with 9:05 left in the second quarter.
- Chattanooga held a 33-28 lead heading into the locker room at halftime.
- Samford started the third quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 35-33 lead with 6:22 left in the third quarter after a basket by Myers.
- Samford held a 42-40 lead at the end of the third period.
- After Samford pushed its lead to 45-40, Chattanooga answered with a 10-1 run to take a 50-46 lead with 6:55 to go.
- Samford fought back to take a 53-52 lead with 3:47 left after a layup by Armstrong.
- Chattanooga then went on a 6-0 run to take a 58-53 lead with 1:27 to go.
- Samford was unable to retake the lead again as Chattanooga finished off the 64-58 win.
