BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford track and field opened the 2021 indoor season at the UAB Vulcan Invite.
The Bulldogs had 18 student-athletes place first, second, or third in the respective events during the meet. The Bulldogs swept the podium in the women's pole vault with
Brittany Bishop,
Jackie Barnes, and
Alexis Cook coming in first, second, and third respectively. Freshman,
Edwin Rainey claimed the men's triple jump crown in his first meet as a Bulldog, while fellow freshman
Jed Sisco claimed the men's pole vault title with a vault of 4.95m.
Morayo Bhadmos continued her excellence in the women's triple jump with a first-place finish in the event finals. The Bulldogs also finished first and third in the men's 4x400m relay with 3:22.48 ('A') and 3:30.38 ('B') respectively.

- Pole Vault: first-place Bishop (3.07m), second-place Barnes (3.60m), and third-place Cook (3.60m).
- High Jump: Megan Elliott third-place 1.65m.
- Triple Jump: Bhadmos first-place 12.03m.

- Weight Throw: Matt Cahoon third-place 17.32m.
- High Jump: Justin Stuckey second-place 2.05m.
- Men's Triple Jump: Rainey first-place 14.2m.
- Pole Vault: Sisco first-place 4.95m.
The Bulldogs will be back in action January 21-23 at the Samford Invite.
