Samford Athletics Giving Day Set for Tuesday, Nov. 16

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The third annual Samford University Athletics Giving Day is set for Tuesday, Nov. 16. Athletics Giving Day was established in 2019 as an opportunity for former Samford student-athletes, alumni and friends to make a gift directly to the programs of their choice.
Last year, 261 donors gave $54,160 representing an increase of more 50% from the inaugural event.
"It is always meaningful when a former student-athlete gives back." Martin Newton, Director of Athletics said. "Athletics Giving Day is a great opportunity for us to rally in support of our current athletes and invest in their student-athlete experience."
To encourage even greater participation this year, Newton, a former Samford student-athlete himself has agreed to match the first $3,000 given by former student-athletes.
"We are grateful for Martin's tremendous leadership and his support of Athletics Giving Day." Maggie Folker, Director of Development said. "We invite all former student-athletes, alumni and friends to join him in support of this year's campaign."
