Samford Athletics Giving Day Champions Support For Student-Athletes

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Thanks to the generosity of former student-athletes, alumni, Samford employees and friends, the 2021 Athletics Giving Day was a remarkable success. Held on November 16th, the third annual Athletics Giving Day produced important funding for Samford Athletics in support of more than 390 student-athletes and 17 men's and women's programs.
This year's Athletics Giving Day surpassed its established goal of 275 donors, securing gifts from 431 donors. Each donor designated their gift to the individual sport or unit of their choice. All of Samford's 17 teams received gifts as part of the campaign with funds helping to meet the individual needs of each program.
"We are truly thankful for everyone who participated in this year's Athletics Giving Day. The response was tremendous." shared Director of Athletics Martin Newton. "Our commitment to providing Samford student-athletes with a first-class experience and the resources they need to be successful athletically and academically would not be possible without the generosity of those who give back to Samford Athletics."
