BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2022 indoor season by competing in the UAB Vulcan Invite Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
 
A total of 19 Samford student-athletes placed either first, second or third in their respective events. Three Bulldogs earned first-place finishes. Morayo Bhadmos won the women's triple jump with a school-record 13.39 meters. Seth Wolfe finished first in the men's weight throw at 18.29 meters. Jed Sisco won the men's pole vault with a height of 4.90 meters.   
 
Samford will return to action on Jan. 21 when the Bulldogs host the Samford University Invite at the CrossPlex. The following day, Samford will host the Samford University Open, also at the CrossPlex.
