BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford's Justin Stuckey earned first team All-America honors in the high jump, and Morayo Bhadmos made second team All-American in the triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
 
Stuckey cleared the first three heights of 2.10 meters, 2.15 meters and 2.20 meters on his first try. The 2.20 meters tied for Stuckey's indoor personal best. Stuckey was unable to clear the next height of 2.23 meters, ending in a tie for third place with Dontavious Hill from Auburn. This marks Stuckey's third All-America honor as he earned the status in both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2021.
 
Bhadmos was unable to complete a jump in her event but finished as a second-team All-American. This is Bhadmos' first All-America honor of her collegiate career.  


Stuckey had a stellar indoor season in 2022. He won the high jump title at the Southern Conference Championships with a jump of 2.10 meters. He also won the event at the Music City Challenge with a leap of 2.20 meters, finished second at the Samford Invite (2.05 meters) and third at both the USA Jaguar Invitational (2.13 meters) and the UAB Blazer Invitational (2.11 meters).
 
Bhadmos also had an outstanding indoor season. She finished second in the triple jump at the SoCon Championships with a height of 11.94 meters. She won the event at the UAB Vulcan Invite with a school-record jump of 13.39 meters. She also finished second at the Samford Invite with a leap of 11.89 meters. She had a jump of 11.98 meters at the Music City Challenge, finishing seventh in the event.
 
Samford will open the 2022 outdoor season March 18-19 at the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta.
