ATLANTA, Ga. – The Samford men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2022 outdoor season with a strong showing at the Georgia Tech Invite, Friday and Saturday.
Samford had student-athletes place in the top three of seven different events. Two Bulldogs took home event titles.
Jed Sisco won the men's pole vault with a height of 5.05 meters.
Michael McMahan also won the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.63 seconds.
A pair of school records fell at the meet as well.
Matt Cahoon set the program record in the men's discus throw at 51.27 meters, finishing second in the meet. On the women's side,
Erin Long set a school record in the javelin throw at 45.21 meters, coming in third.
Samford will compete in the Bulldog Relays, hosted by Mississippi State, March 25-26, in Starkville, Miss.
