EUGENE, Ore. – Samford's
Brittany Bishop competed in the women's pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday night at Hayward Field. Bishop placed 21
st, earning honorable mention All-America status.
Bishop cleared the first height of 3.90 meters on her third attempt. For the second height, of 4.05 meters, Bishop again cleared the height on her third attempt. She was unable to make the third height of 4.20 meters, placing her 21
st and giving her honorable mention All-American honors.
Bishop was the third and final Samford student-athlete to compete in the NCAA Championships.
Ashton Domingue earned second-team All-America honors in the men's javelin throw, while
Benjamin Garner was an honorable mention All-American in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The NCAA Championships wrap up yet another successful season for the Samford men's and women's track and field teams. The Bulldogs won a seventh-straight Southern Conference women's indoor championship and a third-straight men's indoor title. In the outdoor season, Samford earned a third-straight women's title and a second-straight men's championship.
