BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's and women's track and field teams hosted three meets Thursday through Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex, with the Bulldogs turning in stellar performances.
 
"I am happy with where we are and can't wait to see where we end up," Samford head coach Rod Tiffin said. "We had several personal bests and season bests on the weekend and sets us up for an exciting February. The challenge is always to get better each weekend and to be ready to go defend the championship. Five weeks from now, we will be ready."
 
In the Samford Multi, held Thursday and Friday, Ty Kimberlin won the men's heptathlon with 5,431 points.
 
In Friday's Samford Invite, 13 Samford student-athletes placed in the top three of their respective events. The day was highlighted by Edwin Rainey winning the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.56 meters.
 
The Samford Open was held Saturday. Brittany Bishop finished second in the women's pole vault with a height of 4.03 meters in the Samford Open. A full list of Samford's top three finishers at each of the three meets of below.
 
On Sunday, Feb. 5, Samford will compete in the South Alabama Invite, also held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
