Samford Athletics Hosts CHAMPS Employer Showcase

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford Athletics hosted its 2023 CHAMPS Employer Showcase on Wednesday evening in Cooney Hall, with 80 student-athletes in attendance.
Altec, Birmingham Legion, Brookwood Baptist Health, R & W Supply, Regions, Restore Therapy, and Samford Athletics all participated in the showcase.
Executive Associate AD for External Affairs Corey Green kicked off the night with the welcome and described how the night would go. Each representative had about four minutes to provide a brief overview of his or her company. After the presentations, the floor was opened for the student-athletes to network with the representatives. A full list of individual participants can be found below.
The purpose of the evening was three-fold for Samford student-athletes; Connect them with potential employers and/or internships, give them the opportunity to learn about different companies and industries that they may not have considered before, and provide them an opportunity to engage and get more comfortable with professionals from various companies.
The CHAMPS program name stands for Community, Health and Wellness, Academics, Meaning, Professionalism, and Success. The mission of the CHAMPS Program is to invest in Samford's student-athletes through comprehensive development in all aspects including athletic and academic competitiveness, personal growth and wellness, career growth and professionalism, faith formation, and community engagement to have meaningful success that will create champions for life.
