
Bulldogs Open Season At BSC Indoor Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2023-24 indoor season by competing at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker, hosted by Birmingham-Southern College Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Samford had nine student-athletes to finish in the top three of their respective events, with four of those finishing first.
On the men's side, Titus Moore won the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.03 seconds. Ian Jones won the men's triple jump with a height of 14.58 meters. Jed Sisco came in first in the men's pole vault at 5.05 meters, while Arthur Chitty won the men's high jump with a leap of 2.00 meters. Walker Smith came in second in the men's pole vault at 4.85 meters, while Cagan Campbell placed second in the men's 60-meter run with a time of 6.83 seconds.
For the women's team, Libby Jackson came in second in the women's pole vault with a vault of 3.55 meters. Kaelyn McCann came in third in the women's pole vault at 3.55 meters. Hannah Pettyjohn came in third in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.

Samford will next compete in the UAB Blazer Invitational on Jan. 13, also at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
