
Eight Bulldogs Qualify For NCAA East Regional

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A total of eight Samford student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Regional when the field was officially released Thursday afternoon.
The first round will be held May 24-27, in Jacksonville, Fla. Samford's qualifying student-athletes were McKenzie Hogue (women's 1500-meter run), Brittany Bishop (women's pole vault), Erin Long (women's javelin), Titus Moore (men's 110-meter hurdles), Landon Wright (men's 400-meter hurdles), Jed Sisco (men's pole vault), Edwin Rainey (men's triple jump) and Tripp Marcus (men's javelin throw).
The three women's student-athletes that qualified each produced their qualifying performance at the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships. Hogue qualified in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:19.47. Bishop produced her qualifying mark in the pole vault with a vault of 4.06 meters. Long's qualifying javelin throw was 50.68 meters.
On the men's side, Moore ran the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 13.83 seconds at the Crimson Tide Invitational. Wright ran the 400-meter hurdles in 51.60 seconds at the SoCon Championships. Sisco's qualifying pole vault of 5.20 meters came at the SoCon Championships. Rainey qualified for the triple jump with a leap of 15.55 meters at the SoCon Championships. Marcus qualified with a javelin throw of 70.10 meters at the Samford Alabama Track Challenge.
