
Four Bulldogs Compete On Day 1 Of NCAA East Regional

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Four Samford student-athletes competed in the first day of the NCAA East Regional Wednesday at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.
Titus Moore competed in the preliminaries of the men's 110-meter hurdles, advancing to Friday's finals with a time of 13.75 seconds, placing 22nd in the race. Moore will compete in the finals of the event Friday at 5:15 p.m. (CT).
Tripp Marcus competed in the men's javelin throw, narrowly missing a spot in the NCAA Championships, finishing 15th with a distance of 68.47 meters. In the men's 400-meter hurdles, Landon Wright ran the race in 53.04 seconds, placing 35th and not advancing to Friday's finals. Jed Sisco tied for 24th in the men's pole vault, failing to qualify for the NCAA Championships with a vault of 5.05 meters.
The meet will continue on Thursday, with Erin Long competing in the women's javelin throw at 12:30 p.m. (CT). McKenzie Hogue will run in the preliminaries of the women's 1500-meter run at 5:30 p.m. (CT), and then Brittany Bishop will compete in the women's pole vault, also at 5:30 p.m. (CT).
