JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Samford's
Titus Moore qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the men's 110-meter hurdles on the third day of the NCAA East Regional Friday at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.
Moore ran the race in a school-record 13.70 seconds, breaking the previous record of 13.75 seconds he set in Wednesday's first round. His performance, which placed him 11
th in the race, punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, to be held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
Edwin Rainey also competed in the men's triple jump. He placed 40
th with a jump of 14.68 meters, failing to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The meet will wrap up Saturday. Samford's
McKenzie Hogue will compete in the women's 1,500-meter run at 4:15 p.m. (CT).
