Nicastro Selected For NCAA Auburn Regional

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford freshman Gabi Nicastro was selected to play in the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals, assigned to the regional at Auburn University, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.

The NCAA Auburn Regional will be played May 6-8, at the Auburn University Club.

This is the latest in a long line of accolades earned by the freshman from Huntsville. Earlier this week, she was named the SoCon's Freshman of the Year, and was named to the All-SoCon team and the All-Freshman team. She was named the SoCon's Golfer of the Week three times throughout the season.

For the season, Nicastro led the team and ranked second in the conference with a 71.8 stroke average in 29 rounds. Nicastro took home individual medalist honors at both the Hoover Invitational in the fall and the ASU Spring Classic. She tallied 12 under-par rounds, including a low of 68, which she accomplished three times.
