Nicastro Tied For 20th After Day 1 At NCAA Regional

AUBURN, Ala. – Samford freshman Gabi Nicastro sits in a tie for 20^th after the first round of the NCAA Auburn Regional, held Monday at the Auburn University Club (Par 72, 6,456 yards).

Nicastro shot a three-over-par 75 in the first round. She is currently tied for 20^th in the 66-player field, but she is tied for first among individuals. The regional still has two rounds to go, with one round being played Tuesday and the final round on Wednesday, and the top individual not on one of the participating teams advances to the NCAA Championship finals, which will be held May 17-22 in Carlsbad, Calif.
