VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The
Samford track and field team had an individual compete on the national stage this weekend, as
Bradley Franklin ran in the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Bulldog freshman finished 11th in the event by running a time of 7.63 seconds. Franklin finished in 11th overall as he failed to qualify for the finals by just .03 seconds. He had a season-best time of 7.60 seconds which won the Southern Conference title and broke the Samford school record. With his finish, Franklin earns second-team All-American honors from the NCAA in the 60-meter hurdles.
Franklin's run put an end to the indoor season for the Bulldogs as they will prepare for their outdoor season which begins on March 28 at Kennesaw State.
