BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford track and field team kicks off the outdoor portion of their season this weekend as they head to Kennesaw State for two days of meets. Coming off Southern Conference championships on the men's and women's side during the indoor season the Bulldogs will look to win their fifth-straight outdoor men's title and their sixth-straight women's title.
The schedule of events is set to begin in the morning on Friday with field events of hammer toss, javelin, discuss, and long jump, followed by running events in the afternoon and into the night. Saturday starts with field events in the morning again and has individual and relay track in the afternoon.
The event is set to be a scored meet with a field of Samford, Kennesaw State, Life, Wofford, and Akron. The Bulldogs open the outdoor season this weekend as they are set to compete in four straight weekends of meets which leads to the Southern Conference Outdoor Championship which Samford hosts on May 12 & 13.
