LEXINGTON, Ky. – Samford sophomore
Gabi Nicastro wrapped up her 2024-25 season with a strong showing at the NCAA Lexington Regional, held at Keene Trace Golf Club (par 72), Monday through Wednesday.
Nicastro saved her best round of the regional for Wednesday's final round, shooting a one-under-par 71 to finish with a three-round total of 224 (79-74-71). The total places her in a tie for 43
rd in the 67-player field.
The tournament concludes Nicastro's sophomore season. She has now earned bids to an NCAA Regional in each of her first two seasons of collegiate golf, as she competed in the NCAA Auburn Regional in 2024.
Nicastro, who was named the Southern Conference Golfer of the Year last month, finished the season second in the league with a 73.03 stroke average. She earned five tournament wins and she posted 14 at or under par rounds throughout the season.
