BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford freshman place-kicker
Jake Garner was named fourth team Freshman All-American by Phil Steele when the publication's postseason FCS teams were announced recently.
In his freshman campaign in 2025, Garner made 10-of-13 field goal attempts. He was also 15-of-17 on extra point attempts, giving him a team-best 45 points on the season.
Garner also handled the majority of the kickoff duties for Samford in 2025. He kicked off 35, averaging 55.3 yards per kick.
