Nicastro Named SoCon Co-Golfer Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford senior Gabi Nicastro was named the Southern Conference's Co-Golfer of the Week when the league released its weekly women's golf awards Wednesday afternoon.

Nicastro tied for first out of 82 golfers at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, held Monday and Tuesday in Jonesboro, Ark. She finished with a three-round score of seven-under-par 209 (75-67-67) to tie for first.

After shooting three-over-par 75 in the first round, Nicastro bounced back with back-to-back five-under-par rounds of 67 each in the second and third rounds.

Nicastro shares the award with UNC Greensboro's Baker Hudson and Kasey McIlvaine.

Next up, Samford will compete in The Judson, hosted by Southern Mississippi, Oct. 26-27, in Hattiesburg, Miss.
