Nicastro Named SoCon Golfer Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior golfer Gabi Nicastro was named the Southern Conference's Golfer of the Week when the league released its weekly women's golf awards Wednesday afternoon.
Nicastro turned in a strong performance in leading the Bulldogs in the Chris Banister Golf Intercollegiate this week. She finished in a tie for third in the 93-player field, posting a three-round score of three-over-par 219 (73-73-73).
This marks the fourth time in the spring season a Samford player has been named Golfer of the Week and the third time for Nicastro. She earned the honor on Jan. 28 and Feb. 18, while Anika Richards won the award on Feb. 11.
Next up, Samford will compete in the ULM Invitational, Mar. 30-31.
