Franklin Finishes Fifth In The Nation In The 110-Meter Hurdles

EUGENE, Ore. – Samford sophomore Bradley Franklin finished fifth in the nation in the men's 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday evening at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

Franklin ran the race in 13.19 seconds to finish fifth in the nation. With his finish, Franklin earned All-America honors.

Franklin advanced to Friday's finals by finishing second in his heat in Wednesday's semifinal round with a time of 13.29 seconds.

The event wraps up a stellar sophomore season for Franklin. In the indoor season, he competed at the NCAA Championships in the men's 60-meter hurdles back in March, finishing second in the nation. He also won SoCon championships in the outdoor 200-meter run and 110-meter hurdles, as well as in the indoor 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.

Last season, as a freshman, he also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 110-meter hurdles, placing 15th in the nation.
