Bulldogs Wrap Up Play at Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Samford women's golf team finished its second tournament of the season today as they wrapped up play at the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start in round one before bouncing back with solid play in rounds two and three. Samford finished 11th as a team and finished with a score of +40.

Gabi Nicastro led the way for the Bulldogs once again, but even she got off to a slow start in round one. She shot a team-best 76 on Friday but closed with rounds of 70 and 69 in rounds two and three to move up and finish in 17th place. Beka Yang finished in 30th in the 71-person field. She played her best golf of the weekend in round two, where she shot a two-under 70 but an opening 77 and a 75 on each end of her best play.

Grace Engel finished 50th for Samford as she had a weekend best round of 73 today. Morgan Franklin and Grace Hall finished back-to-back in 67th and 68th and shot their best scores today with a 79 and 77, respectively.

The Bulldogs are off for nearly a month as they are back in action on Oct. 12 when they tee it up at the Lady Redwolves Classic, hosted by Arkansas State.
