Branden Fryman

Branden Fryman enters his second season as an assistant coach on the Samford baseball coaching staff. His addition to the staff was announced on Sept. 10, 2024.

"I am ecstatic to have Branden joining our coaching staff and program," Samford head coach Tony David said. "He is one of the best players and infielders in our program's history. He is an incredibly hard worker and understands the game at the highest level. He will bring so much to our program and help our players develop daily in all areas."

Fryman played at Samford from 2017 to 2019, playing in 177 career games for the Bulldogs. He finished with a career .290 batting average, and he helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2018 Southern Conference Tournament championship and the 2019 SoCon regular season title.

"I am honored and excited to be joining Coach David and the rest of the Samford baseball staff," Fryman said. "As a former player at Samford, this is a great opportunity to help guys that are in the same position I was once in. Go Bulldogs!"

Fryman was named to the SoCon's All-Freshman team in 2017. In his final Samford season, he was named first team All-SoCon following the 2019 season. During the 2019 season, he hit a career-high .323, collecting 73 hits, with seven doubles, four home runs and 29 RBI.

Fryman was selected by the New York Mets in the 21st round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft. During his professional career, Fryman played on a team that won the New-York-Penn League title. He rose as high as the Triple-A Syracuse Mets during his playing career, which lasted through the 2023 season.
