Samford University Athletics

Brandon Sheppard enters his first year as Samford's head football athletic trainer.

A 1995 graduate of the University of West Alabama and a 1997 graduate of Valdosta State University, Brandon brings more than 30 years of athletic training experience to Samford's football program. He began his career in professional baseball with the New York Mets organization before spending 17 years as a teacher and Head Athletic Trainer at Hoover High School. Brandon has also served as Head Athletic Trainer at Birmingham-Southern College and as a member of the football sports medicine staff at the University of Tennessee.

Brandon and his wife, Marci, have been married for 25 years and have three children: Brady (20), Manning (16), and Bryant (born in 2009). He is a deacon and small group leader at Hunter Street Baptist Church and enjoys golfing, duck hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
