Baseball Signee: Jordan Wren

Baseball signee Jordan Wren.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Over the next few weeks we will be profiling each of Samford baseball's nine signees for the 2012 early signing period. Today's profile is of Jordan Wren.

Jordan Wren (OF, 6-2, 190, Peachtree City, Ga./Landmark Christian School) is a speedy, left-handed hitting outfielder that has been a four year letterman at Landmark Christian School in Atlanta.  Wren hit .373 with two home runs, three triples, 25 runs batted in and 12 stolen bases on his way to First Team All-Region honors the last two seasons as a sophomore and junior.

“Jordan comes from a great baseball family," Samford head coach Casey Dunn said. "He fits the need for an athletic left-handed bat in our program. Jordan is really developing physically and I believe is going to grow into an outstanding player in our program. In addition he is a young man of strong character that will make a great addition to our team.”

Wren plays in the summers with the Atlanta Baseball Academy Braves travel team and was selected to participate in the prestigious East Coast Professional Showcase in New York this August.  His family has strong ties to the sport of baseball with two brothers currently playing at Georgia Tech and his father, Frank, serving at the General Manager of the Atlanta Braves.
