BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Samford football team's home opener, which is one week away against Stillman College, will be Military Appreciation Night at Seibert Stadium.
All military and first responders will receive free admission to the game. Samford will also give out 7,000 American Flags to fans entering the stadium.
The Samford, UAB and Homewood High School Air Force and Army ROTC will assist in a halftime ceremony honoring military personnel and first responders. Tidmore Flags is donating 12 American flags to be used during the halftime presentation.
Prior to the game, Homewood Police Chief Jim Roberson and his family will be honored as the Bulldog Family of the Game. Anna Laura Bryan, a Samford graduate and 2012 Miss Alabama will sing America the Beautiful to honor all first responders.
In addition, five minutes following the conclusion of the game there will be a fireworks show in Seibert Stadium to conclude the day's festivities.
