BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Samford senior cornerback
James Bradberry has been named to the STATS second team preseason All-America team, released by The Sports Network Thursday afternoon.
In 2014, Bradberry finished second on the team with two interceptions. He also had four pass break-ups, and he was responsible for 25 tackles, including 22 solo stops. At the conclusion of last season, Bradberry was named second team All-SoCon by the league's coaches.
As a sophomore in 2013, Bradberry had 26 tackles, two interceptions and 10 pass break-ups. The Pleasant Grove, Ala., native was also named second team All-SoCon by the coaches following the 2013 season.
In his first season in a Samford uniform in 2012, Bradberry had 32 tackles, two interceptions and two pass break-ups. Bradberry spent the 2011 season as a redshirt at Arkansas State, before transferring to Samford for the 2012 season.
For his career, Bradberry has accumulated 83 tackles, including 61 solo stops. He has six interceptions and 16 pass break-ups in his time in a Samford uniform.
Bradberry is one of seven Southern Conference players named to the preseason All-America team.
Samford opens its 2015 season, the first under new Head Coach
Chris Hatcher, on Thursday, Sept. 3, against Central Arkansas. Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m. from Seibert Stadium.
