NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Samford's Kelly Christoffer scored her first collegiate goal in the second half of the Bulldogs 3-1 loss to Southwest Texas State in the 2000 Bruin Classic Friday night.
Christoffer's goal was the most exciting of the evening as Rebecca Kent sent in a corner kick which Christoffer headed past Bobcat goalkeeper Kristen Tutt. Unfortunalty for Samford, that would be the only goal the Bulldogs could get past Tutt.
Southwest Texas State scored the first goal of the match just 6:08 into the game off the foot of Candice Kocian. Allison Crain added a second Bobcat goal two and half minutes later to give SWTS a 2-0 lead at halftime. SWTS made the score 3-0 with a second-half goal by Jessica Armendariz before Christoffer put Samford on the board.
Samford will try to get its first win of the season on Saturday as it faces Belmont at 3 p.m.
