JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Rondy Rogers ran for 134 yards and two touchdowns
as Jacksonville State beat Samford 36-16 on Thursday night.
Jacksonville State (2-1) pulled away in fourth quarter, with Reggie Stancil
hitting Cedric Allen with a 35-yard scoring strike, Roger Bell scoring on a
44-yard TD run, and Markee Coleman returning a kickoff for a touchdown.
Rogers put the Gamecocks ahead with TD runs of 16 and 27 yards in the first
quarter.
Samford's Chip Walters hit a field goal just before halftime, and Kadell
Wright scored on a 3-yard run in the third quarter as the Bulldogs (2-2) pulled
within four points.
Bell finished with 80 yards on six carries, and Stancil completed 7 of 10
passes for 64 yards. Josh Kellett was 13-of-33 for 203 yards and one touchdown
for Samford.
