Because Samford's game with Jacksonville State on Jan. 27th will appear live on Fox Sports Net South, the game's tipoff time is now 1:00 p.m., not 2:00 as released earlier in the season. The Bulldogs face the Gamecocks for the second time in seven days, playing this game at Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Ala.
Samford defeated the Gamecocks 68-61 on Jan. 20 in Birmingham, and the Bulldogs currently hold the number one spot in the Trans America Athletic Conference at 7-2 in conference play, 10-8 overall. SU is 7-1 in its last eight games and is ranked second in the nation behind Duke in three-pointers made per game (10.3).
As always, Bulldog basketball can also be heard on WJOX-AM 690, WVSU-91.1 and right here on www.samfordsports.com.
The Samford/Jacksonville State women's game was also effected by the time change. The Bulldogs and Lady Gamecocks will begin a half hour earlier at 4 p.m. That game can be seen on College Sports Southeast. It will be the only time this year to see the Bulldog women on TV. The Last time the Samford ladies appeared on TV was against Jacksonville State last season at Seibert Hall. Samford took that game 77-60.
