BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The Samford University baseball team faces Eastern Kentucky in a double header on Saturday to open its 2001 home schedule at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

Samford (1-2) will face the Colonels (0-0) in a nine-inning game at 1 pm., then follow with a seven inning game to complete the double header. Left-hander Ty Dedmon (0-1) will pitch in game one for the Bulldogs, and right-hander Major Allred (1-0) will go in game two.

Freshman Derek Tharpe will pitch on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the game that was rescheduled due to Friday's inclement weather.
