Alabama's Ashley Courtney hit a three-run home run in the first inning and the Crimson Tide added four more in the fifth to defeat Samford 7-0 and advance to the Championship game of the Bama Bash.
Samford (0-4) has scored just four runs in its first for game and were being no-hit by Alabama's Shelly Laird before Mindy Shunnarah delivered a double to lead off the seventh inning. Laird struck out 14 batters over seven innings of work.
Erin Landsburg went the distance for Samford giving up seven runs on seven hits. Only five of the runs were earned.
Samford will play in the consolation game on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Maryland while Evansville will meet Alabama in the Championship game at 1 p.m.
