ATLANTA, Ga. - Melissa LeComte squeezed home Yolanda McRae with the winning run in game one and Katie Blue singled home Cindy Gullies to win game two to give Georgia State a pair of seventh inning victories over Samford 3-2 and 6-5 in Atlantic Sun softball action on Monday.

Samford (20-28) tied game one in the top of the seventh inning when Mindy Shunnarah singled home pinch runner Erin Landsburg. Deanna Resmondo put the Bulldogs on the board in the fourth inning with her first home run of the season.

In game two, the Bulldogs overcame a 4-0 deficit to claim a 5-4 lead when Michelle Dickey singled up the middle with the bases loaded to score Shunnarah and Resmondo. Shunnarah went 4-7 in the two games with an RBI and two runs scored. Resmondo went 3-7 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Georgia State (31-24, 8-8 A-Sun) trailed the nightcap heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Lindsey Bryant led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch. Gullies then beat out a ground ball to shortstop and stole second before scoring on Blue's hit just inside the third base bag.

Andrea McNary (17-12) won both games for the Panthers coming on in relief in the second game after going the distance in game one. On the day, she pitched 8.2 giving up two runs on six hits and struck out six batters.

Erin Landsburg (9-18) took the loss in game two despite giving up just one hit through the first six innings. She was the victim of an unfortunate second inning which she gave up four runs, three unearned, on just one hit. The loss in game one dashed Samford's hopes of qualifying for the Atlantic Sun Tournament as the Bulldogs finished A-Sun play with a 5-12 conference record.

Samford will play its final home games of the season on Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Georgia Tech in a double header beginning at 4 p.m. Before the game, Samford will honor seniors Rebekah Phillips, Janet Middleton, Dickey, and Shunnarah.
