Samford took a day off from the practice field as varsity players underwent strength tests Wednesday. One day after reporting and undergoing a conditioning test Tuesday night, players had an academic day as well as position meetings.

The Bulldogs held Tuesday night's conditioning test under the lights of Seibert Stadium.

"I was pleased with the way we ran in the conditioning test," head coach Bill Gray said. "Some of them I could tell worked really hard this summer, but I was disappointed with others. Those players I've already challenged and they've accepted that challenge."

Samford will hold its first full squad practice Thursday morning at 7:50 a.m. with a second practice at 3:45 p.m.
