The Samford men's and women's golf teams each finished in fourth place at the Butler Fall Invitational at Eagle Creek Country Club on Tuesday.
Tricia Harlow led the Bulldog ladies with a final round 77 to finish in fifth place with a +23, 239 over the three-round event. Wendy Jo Kramer of Butler won the tournament with a +14, 230. She also shot a 77 on the final day. Harlow was just three strokes out of a third place tie with Tennessee Tech's Julie Smith and Sarah Thomas at 236.
The Bulldogs finished in fourth place. Tennessee Tech took top honors winning by eight strokes over Butler.
Samford's Kelly Stout finished in the top 20 in 19th place with a three round total of 259. She shot an 84 on Tuesday. Tara Clayton shot an 83 on the final round to finish 22nd and Sara Gossum finished 25th with a final round 91. Kelly Villarreal shot an 80 on Tuesday in her only round of the tournament.
On the men's side, Ryan Mayberry shot a final round 72 to finish in fifth place at +3 on the tournament with a 216. He was seven shots off the lead that was held by Tennessee Tech's Eric Anderson. Anderson also shot a 72 on Tuesday to finish at -4 with a three-round total of 209.
Bradley Farmer shot a 73 on Tuesday to finish tied for 12th with a 220. Louis South III shot a 77, Andy McRae and Seth Mobley shot a 78 on Tuesday as the men finished in a fourth place tie with IUPUI in the 10-team field. Butler took the team title by three strokes over Tennessee Tech.
