Hayley Kolb one-timed a ball from 35 yards out in the 61st minute that sailed over the head of Lady Gov Goalkeeper Sarah Broadbent an into the back of the net. This was first goal of the year and the 18th of her career moving her into third place on Samford's all time scoring list.

Senior Lisa Robishaw finished out the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 88th minute on an assist from Kathy Nichols. The Bulldogs four goals in the second half marks their highest goal total in a half for the season.

The shared shutout by Crystal Royall, Emily Morris, and Sherry Nuckolls was the Bulldogs school record ninth of the season.

"We needed a game like this," said Samford head coach Todd Yelton. "It was great to get a conference win; however, we are still looking for a full ninety minutes of good soccer. Hopefully we can carryover the momentum from the second half into Sunday's game."

Samford will return to action on Sunday afternoon as it hosts Tennessee Tech in a 2 p.m. match at Bulldog Field.
