MOREHEAD, Ky - Samford setter Krista Kettering had 28 assists and nine digs as she moved just five assists shy of the Samford career assist record in the Bulldogs 3-0 loss at Morehead State Saturday morning.

Kettering now has 4,142 career assists trailing only Donna Mock who played from 1992-95 for the Bulldogs and totaled 4,147 career assists.

Morehead State (17-9, 10-2 OVC) used a strong serve with 10 aces and hit an impressive .426 to remain in second place in the OVC standings with the 30-13, 30-25, 30-19 victory. Jennifer Kennedy led the why with 18 kills and a .548 attack percentage, Cherelle Lampkins had 17 kills and a .406 attack percentage.

Samford (9-16, 3-9 OVC) was led by Hilary Gary who had nine kills and Alyssa Whitehead and Brooke Berryman who each had six kills. The Bulldogs struggled to just a .111 attack percentage for the match.

The Bulldogs will return home next weekend as they host Austin Peay on Friday at 7 p.m. Samford will play three of its final five matches at Seibert Hall to close out the season.
